Job Snapshot

Job Description

IQVIA™ Consulting Services provides tools to the Life Sciences industry in 100+ countries around the world. Our data, software, and consulting practices help pharmaceutical companies make better strategic and operational decisions. We influence nearly every aspect of decision making in this industry, including strategic forecasting, portfolio modeling, launch strategy optimization, and commercial model design. In helping these companies make better decisions, our software and consulting solutions help improve quality of life for millions of patients taking therapies around the world.

We are looking for candidates to build a new generation of software models and tools. You will work directly with Life Sciences clients to structure problems, and with our tight-knit group of modeling experts to build new tools to solve those problems. A blend of people skills, as well as coding knowledge and a rigorous understanding of analysis and modeling, are considered essential for the job.

We are focused on building first-in-class or best-in-class solutions that are elegant, real-time, data-focused and simple. We understand that a great solution is not just about “blindly” building a software model, but about bringing together software with a deep understanding of client needs to deliver a solution that is right for the job. As such, this role will require you to develop, pilot and deploy new products that meet the needs of our customers and the industry. You will work directly with individuals with 20+ years of experience in the industry, and report to the Software Lead for delivering those products.

Candidates interested in joining IQVIA™ as a Model Developer must have:
2-4 years relevant business analysis experience, ideally a mix of consulting and start-up or other company experience

Some experience in one or more programming languages (including .Net, Java, Excel Visual Basic for Applications, or C / C++)

The ability to work in a cross-functional team that both interacts with clients and builds software models. This requires great communication skills as well as a track record for building consensus, driving change and creating solutions first-hand

Knowledge of SQL or no-SQL databases (or be willing to learn)

Direct experience in building decision models that help customers make better decisions through simplifying data and problems to their essence

Strong analytical abilities. You enjoy absorbing large amounts of data, learning new programming languages or building quantitative insights based on an understanding of complex systems

Intellectual curiosity, discipline and attention for structure and details
Bachelor’s degree in Computational Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or equivalent field.
