Job Description

Role Purpose:

Leads large process improvement projects with global, or large geography impact, which may include LEAN Sigma and Kaizens. Analyzes complex business activities, makes recommendations for improvement, obtains cross-functional approval and funding and manages or monitors implementation of solutions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identifies and screens process improvement opportunities/projects, which may include LEAN Sigma
  • Assesses and summarizes the current or “as is” state of complex, problematic processes or systems from a strategic and tactical viewpoint. 
  • Facilitates sessions with users, subject matter experts, and/or business owners to extract key user and business requirements. 
  • Designs new or improved workflows for technology or non-technology-related projects based on opportunities identified in the current state analysis, the users’ needs and input. 
  • Writes documents that summarize the statement of work, current state, user requirements, vision for the future, and businesses cases to clearly describe the issues, desired changes, urgency for change, and the cost/benefit to the organization. 
  • Presents complex processes in a manner that can be understood by all business audiences. 
  • Works with management and stakeholders to identify project scope, priority, goals, and milestones. 
  • Works cross-functionally to eliminate risks and barriers that can jeopardize large projects.
  • Writes project plans. 
  • Serves as a liaison between clients or users and developers to ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into technical specifications. 
  • Monitors and communicates project progress to the team, colleagues and management. 
  • Maintains project plan / process map documentation to reflect changes in the operating environment. 
  • Gathers and monitors key metrics to assess project performance. 
  • Represents Production departments’ viewpoint on large, strategic projects and communicates their impact back to the Production organization.
  • Manages program communication and governance
  • Mentors process improvement leads
  • Delivers training sessions, which may include Kaizens and Lean Sigma training

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Can manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
  • Ability to bring projects to successful completion. 
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in process improvement techniques, facilitation, metrics, project management, and process mapping. 
  • Lean / Six Sigma and Project Management experience a must.
