Job Description

Job Purpose:

Extensive experience in Software Development cycles, inception, elaboration, construction and transition. Designing IT-related activities, ensuring IT streamline operations is in alignment with the business objectives of the organization, as well as providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. Working closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team from inception to implementation of applications in a data warehouse environment to meet specified design requirements and specifications, the role involves Offshore Communications and leadership.
  • Investigates standard systems applications, conduct analysis of system specifications and program code review.
  • Support the team to translate applications design specifications into software applications
  • Participates in the preparation of detailed systems design specifications to meet defined requirements
  • Prepare application(s) for release through the change control process
  • Coordinate activities with team members for successful transition of application to the “delivery” team
  • Support the team in application development and be hands on when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of academic field(s) or discipline(s):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience.
  • Incumbent possesses and has demonstrated specialized systems and programming knowledge with 5 - 10 years’ experience in systems analysis, design and application programming.

Technical Skills-Mandatory qualifications:

  • Solid Design, development and implementation of DW/BI Solutions.
  • Extensive database experience.
  • Extensive Data Warehouse ETL & ELT experience.
  • Extensive Knowledge on Developing Aggregations, KPIs, Measures, Partitions and Data Mining Models.
  • Strong Relational Data Base experience (Oracle 11g & 12c).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Performance tuning.
  • Strong BI development skills ie tools ( Tableau, QlikSense, Power BI).

Nice to have experience:

  • Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud.
  • Big data technologies like Redshift, Hadoop Spark and/or Google Big query.
  • Predictive Analysis and Machine Learning
