Top level technical expert managing and driving delivery of solutions. Acts independently under general direction. Manages projects from conception through deployment and provides hands-on technical leadership on complex projects. Acts as expert in business or functional area. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives in conjunction with business users, other internal IT teams and external vendors. Identifies specific solutions, techniques and/or approaches to solve complex technical problems. Architect, design and deliver enterprise grade solutions that are highly reliable, scalable and support all functional and non-functional requirements. Responsible for requirements, system design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Prepares detailed specifications as necessary from which programs will be written. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of system development. Will be responsible for all phases of a project. Will have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other system engineering personnel. Will have quality assurance review responsibilities.

  • Manage and drive delivery of large, complex projects leveraging general leadership skills in conjunction with hands on domain and technical expertise
  • Drives development of functional and non-functional requirements across all stakeholders such as business users, other internal IT teams and External vendors and ensure all are on same page
  • Evaluate alternatives, identify pros and cons to propose optimal solution architecture and design
  • Defines deliverables, costs and benefits and ROI
  • Develop complex solution architecture and design specs and manage the implementation throughout the lifecycle of project
  • Develop and manage overall project plan with details of development, testing, implementation and maintenance phases for systems/applications
  • Engineers software, system and/or programming solutions across projects and/or technologies to meet Internal and external needs
  • Interact with External, corporate and project team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables
  • Define and set programming standards and validation procedures
  • Performs peer review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members with regard to IT standards and procedures
  • Accountable and responsible for project outcomes in terms of Quality and adherence to cost and schedule
  • Mentor junior team members in training and developing technical expertise
  • Instruct, allocate, manage, direct and monitor work of geographically dispersed team across continents working in a seamless onsite/offshore delivery model
  • Conduct meetings and discussions at odd hours (early morning/late evening US time) with offshore team as necessary
  • Share roadmap/architecture/Plan and status managers, Sr. leaders and executives periodically as necessary using professional power point presentations
  • Performs other duties as directed

Job Requirements

  • Proficient with the following: Biztalk 2016/Biztalk 2013 R2 involving use of  MLLP-HL7, WCF* and other adapters, C#, ASP.Net, Powershell,  Microsoft Visual Studio - in On Prem and/or Azure; Azure experience preferred and a huge plus in stated areas
  • Strong experience and knowledge in integrating other interfaces such as SFTP, HTTP, SOAP and File
  • Strong experience and knowledge in complex Biztalk maps, custom C# components, inline and external XSLT, developing custom pipeline components, batching/debatching
  • Proficient in administering Biz Talk including deployment (CI/CD), performance tuning, integration, and setting up and managing HA/DR setup for a complex multitier/multi computer Biztalk setup
  • Possess very strong understanding of security issues involved in integrating with external partners using Biztalk (including but not limited to encryption, authentication/authorization, firewall, network & Biztalk architecture considerations) and possess very strong ability to address those concerns through appropriate application and infrastructure setup 
  • Strong knowledge and experience with creating secure web services/API’s – SOAP and Rest - on Prem and in Azure
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2012 and beyond
  • RDBMS system (expert in the following: MS SQL Server and Oracle)
  • SQL, PL/SQL. and/or T-SQL
  • Cognos and XML experience preferred
  • Possess an expert knowledge in typical software development tools, practices, and lifecycle methodologies
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the clinical drug development industry, procedures/processes, and regulatory standards
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and technical database skills
  • Must possess experience in specific technologies appropriate to the specific role specification. Experience should include hardware and software selection, testing, and specification.
  • Must possess one or more industry recognized certifications appropriate to the specific role or be able to demonstrate equivalent expertise through extended experience or other methods
  • Possess excellent aural, verbal, and written communications skills, to include writing/editing of technical documentation for international audiences; effective presentation skills
  • Ability to serve as technical leader on a global engineering team
  • Ability to assess/diagnose problems and requirements for work, identify root causes of technical problems, and recommend solutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
  • Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s in computer science or related field with a minimum 9 years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
