Job Description

Title:  Associate Director, Account Management

Location: Parsippany, NJ or Plymouth Meeting, PA




Role Purpose:

To work with Sales and Leadership Teams in renewing existing contracts or creating new contracts, across our key pharmaceutical customer base.  This role requires strong analytical and business skills, allowing the applicant to evaluate existing contracts, in order to understand the financials and terms, and to work with the Account Teams to understand the business objectives, opportunities and risks, in order to drive growth in future customer agreements. 


Ability to conduct strategic planning workshops with the IQVIA Sales Teams, Service Teams, and Principals across the IQVIA affiliates and Business Units, and to perform in-depth analysis on the value of IQVIA services.


Ability to work with Finance, Legal and Contract Management, and to assist Account Teams in direct communications or negotiations with the customer’s purchasing teams.




Principal Accountabilities:

  • Understand the functional strategy of the business unit, including annual business goals and objectives, as well as the market environment, and translate that knowledge into proactive operational plans, in order to achieve quarterly and annual business results.
  • Support the contract renewal process for large customers, including in-depth financial analysis, planning, workshop training, strategy, internal communications and contract generation.
  • Support Sales and Service Teams regarding contracts for key business opportunities.
  • Coordinate across Sales, Service, Business Units and Client Principals, to build and execute action plans regarding the contract renewal process.
  • Assist the Account Team in contract negotiations with the customer buyer team, as needed.
  • Drive results against key operating metrics such as contract growth, profitability and client satisfaction. 
  • Provide status reports and updates to the Executive Management Team on issues, as required.
  • Some travel within the US may be required.



Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
  • Supply Chain Management knowledge.   
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare information industry is a plus.
  • Strong operational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.  Comfortable interpreting financial information and summarizing actions and results for management consumption.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and build remote relationships.

  • Annual revenue scope:  Directly and indirectly supports revenue of over $100M annually
