Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of software application development and maintenance including business analysis, technical design, software development, quality assurance, implementation and support of internal and external facing web applications built on the Microsoft technology stack.  The Senior Software Engineer translates business requirements into system specifications and develops software features and functions consistent with industry standard software development lifecycle methodologies. The developed solutions must increase scalability and improve business process efficiency.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

 Conduct design reviews with business unit leaders and system champions, providing guidance, technical solution development and feasibility analysis
 Develop new/enhance existing business applications including analysis, design, prototyping, coding, training and documentation
 Work with IT and business test groups to support quality and acceptance testing
 Communicate and document status to project leadership
 System maintenance including bug-fixes and minor updates
 Adherence to established software development life cycle methodology and internal controls governing Change Management
 Other duties as assigned

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related area is required
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a developer (lead developer would be a plus)
• Minimum of 4 years experience with ASP.NET/ VB.NET, C#
• Minimum of 3 years experience writing SQL Server scripts for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher
• Minimum of 2 years experience with reporting solutions built on Microsoft Reporting Services
• Must have experience with .NET 4.0 or higher Framework, XML, AJAX, HTML
• Must have experience developing complex applications in a team environment
• Must have experience working in object oriented programming using Visual Studio IDE
• Must have experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source control management
• Experience with JQuery or similar technologies
• Experience developing solutions in Microsoft .NET Core and WebApi a plus
• Experience with Clinical Trials industry is a plus

Skill Requirements
• Confident self-starter able to take a project through the development life cycle to completion
• Strong ability to design and work with n-tier architectures or MVVM patterns along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA)
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of software design and implementation best practices
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Works equally well alone or as part of a group to meet hard deadlines
• Ability to organize and present information in clear and concise formats
• Ability to apply critical reasoning skills that ensure the developed features and functions align with specifications
