Job Summary

The Agile Lead will manage and coordinates the delivery of software products using an agile methodology.  This individual will work with the Product Owner, Business Analysts and individual contributors to ensure backlog is groomed and has sufficient details to be utilized for development.  They will work to remove impediments and enable the team to achieve their goals and timelines while maintaining a high level of performance.  The Agile Lead will help lead the team to transform to an Agile Process, lead by example, challenge the status que and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Understands operational objectives and drives technical activities associated with achieving those objectives.
  • Understand technical scope of work and engage non-technical managers and stakeholders
  • Creates overall project plans, prepares budgets, and defines resource-driven tasks and key dependencies for software development initiatives.
  • Develops, implements and monitors project Kanban boards associated with Agile development lifecycle.
  • Leads daily meetings, grooming sessions, and planning meetings to ensure full team engagement. Manage interdependencies between agile team members.
  • Interviews team members to establish estimates for deliverables
  • Communicates with the product organization (operations & developers) to ensure requirements and priorities are understood. 
  • Facilitates Agile lifecycle transparency.
  • Mentor/coach team members on Agile practices
  • Work with the Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, and to keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution.
  • Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions for delivery milestones.
  • Collaborate with the product organization during development and remediation cycles, adjusting plan as necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring all impediments are cleared.  Leads dependency management and cross team coordination.
  • Collaborates with the Training department to ensure successful hand off of training documentation and establish end-user training schedules.
  • Coordination of go-live activities; post go-live punch list tracking and remediation as needed
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Monitor and document Product/Project risks, including status reporting and risk mitigation
  • Presents regular status reports to senior management on progress, identifies risks and escalates issues when required
  • In collaboration with individuals across the Product organization, coordinate the development and continuous prioritization of program improvement plan
  • Provide support and guidance to Payment Department when questions arise as it relates to systems.
  • Assist in regression, smoke testing and system testing when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors in a Business or Technical field
  • 3+ years working with Agile development teams. Certification as Scrum Mater (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or other Agile relevant certifications preferred
  • Experience working in Agile software development for enterprise level applications
  • Experience in applying appropriate Agile and Lean principles, patterns, techniques, and metrics
  • Strong analytical, planning and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing demands
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence is a preferred
