Job Description

IQVIA is currently recruiting for a Consultant to join IQVIA's Real World Evidence team.

Location: Hybrid - Sydney

Type: Permanent full time

As a Consultant wyou manage the design and implementation of Real World Evidence (RWE) based projects and studies, primarily for clients in the pharmaceutical and related industries.

This role requires a strong consulting mindset to interpret frequently changing client needs and develop appropriate evidence generation solutions. The role is fast-paced, with Consultants expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously with the support of associate consultants. They will be supported by the Principal in charge of each study/project.

Additionally, Consultants are expected to provide mentorship and guidance to associate consultants, lead on new business proposals, provide industry thought leadership and drive internal development initiatives within the team.

Essential Functions

  • Drives the day-to-day management of multiple observational and real-world evidence studies with guidance from the Principal in charge. Involvement spans the entire study lifecycle, from inception to results dissemination.
  • Manage day-to-day client consultation and management, distilling complex information and communicating strategic updates in a client-ready fashion.
  • Manage project plans and workstreams of reasonable size with senior support, ensuring projects remain on time and within budget. Proactively highlight issues and next steps for the client and ensure the project remains on track.
  • Develop broad knowledge of consulting methodologies and the pharmaceutical market through consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Manage the design of proposals in response to new business leads, under the guidance of team principals.
  • Perform quantitative or qualitative analysis to assist in identifying client issues and developing client deliverables.
  • Create presentations for clients with some senior support.
  • Attend, support, and present at client meetings.
  • Participate in wider thought leadership exercises within the industry, including webinars, white papers, and conferences.
  • Support team development through management of internal initiatives and development projects.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Ideally, an undergraduate degree in life sciences. Candidates with a degree in economics/business and experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry will also be considered. Epidemiological or biostatistical qualifications are desired.
  • Ph.D. candidates will be considered with little or no work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience required.
  • Avid interest in the healthcare and life science industries.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of client-based businesses.
  • Consulting and/or project management experience desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Exceptional written, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Current full time working rights in Australia.
