Making every step count: Relay for Life

IQVIA Laboratories Singapore united for a 12-hour 100 km relay to fundraise and support cancer awareness.
Every culture looks strong on an onboarding slide, but what does it look like at 3 a.m., 100 kilometers in? The IQVIA Laboratories Singapore team found out when they participated in the Relay for Life 2026 100 km Challenge, one of the largest global fundraising events for cancer awareness, research and patient care.
This race was not for the faint of heart. The team split into shifts for a continuous, 12-hour overnight race. Their goal was to keep the team baton moving, demonstrating teamwork, resilience and commitment to the cause straight through the night until sunrise.
"Events like this build character, resilience and camaraderie among team members. I stayed with the team throughout the night to support each shift and ensure that the baton kept moving. Seeing colleagues encourage one another through the early hours made the experience especially meaningful," shared Yong Herng Low, lab operations manager.
Colleagues who usually only interact via email found themselves running side-by-side, cheering each other on through the early hours of the morning.
By the finish line, the team had raised more than SGD 1,200 for the Singapore Cancer Society, directly supporting vital cancer research and patient care programs.
Events like these are just one way IQVIA’s culture comes to life through collaboration and making a real-world impact. We continue to champion a people-first culture that actively advances public health and improves patient lives, both inside and outside of work.
