Overview of the team

The Technology Solutions team provides Technology Solutions to Life Science clients across offerings ranging from Customer Data, CRM, Multichannel Marketing, Social, Content Management, Performance Management and Master Data Management solutions.  The team also provide marketing services to Life Science clients by delivering email and direct mail services as well as patient adherence solutions.

The Technology Solutions group is part of the Technology & Services team – delivering on the vision of bringing the best of IQVIA assets to tackle the challenges of Life Science organisations.

The Technology Solutions team are expanding to deliver the commercial ambition for the future. The key Technology and Customer Data offerings being driven are:

  • OneKey Customer Data – Our global master customer database, OneKey, is a critical component of our strategic offerings, helping Life Science companies to drive new insights and approaches when managing customer relationships and interactions
  • Orchestrated Customer Engagement – an end-to-end customer engagement capability spanning CRM and marketing automation capabilities; built on the salesforce platform
  • Salesforce Effectiveness Solutions – a range of applications to support salesforce excellence functions such as incentive compensation and territory design
  • Master Data Management – a solution built off the industry leading platform (Reltio) to enable clients to connect disparate data assets and obtain a single enriched view of assets, e.g. customers
  • Content Management – a solution supporting clients in the management and distribution of approved content
  • Compliance solutions – the leading compliance solution suite for Life Sciences, from the tracking and reporting of HCP spend to
  • Performance Management & Insights – a suite of performance management capabilities designed around key Life Science personas delivered on a variety of leading performance management solutions

The fundamental role of the Technology Sales Specialist is to drive new business in their designated product areas and to secure ongoing growth by working with GTM teams to enhance offerings.

Overview of the role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about healthcare and the value that our solutions bring in this environment and who wants to own the end to end process of developing, selling, delivering and evolving the offering to meet market and client needs.

  • This role requires strong internal leadership and the ability to understand and transfer technical requirements to deliver solutions to our clients.
  • Sell it - Commercially the role will be required to define the forecast and planning by quarter and to engage with existing clients, as well as leading on new opportunities
  • Deliver it - Engaging with clients to confirm the service delivered is in line with expectations will be critical, ensuring successful implementations and the best possible value is achieved
  • Develop it - Gathering requirements to evolve the offering and shape investment decisions will help you to develop solutions to reflect the UK healthcare landscape and to share the vision for future roadmaps with customers and internal teams

Role and responsibilities:

  • Ownership of aligned offerings from the UKI perspective, providing leadership of both product strategy and business development.
  • Provide Sales Leadership to GTM teams, using a consultative approach and product expertise to proactively manage the selling process and solve customers’ business needs.
  • Achieve growth and revenue targets through the proactive shaping of the product offering and creation of client opportunities through effective networking and selling processes.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships to create new business opportunities
  • Proactively seek to strengthen added value services and maximise upsell opportunities
  • Seek “starburst” opportunities within existing customers to grow revenue opportunities across the IQVIA suite of offerings.
  • As part of the sales process, gathers market and client intelligence and provides strategic feedback to Marketing and Sales to strengthen offerings and capture additional business.
  • Expertly manage operational and product processes in line with market and customer needs, ensuring developments achieve competitive goals. 
  • Proactively strengthens in depth knowledge of products and their application within a client’s business, sharing best practice internally across Sales teams
  • Contributes to account planning strategy and collaborates with Account Teams to target and validate opportunities for assigned UKI customers
  • Identifies and manages resources to develop proposals that position IQVIA capabilities & solutions to customers.
  • Monitors delivery, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Typically reporting to the Commercial Director or BU Lead. May have reports but not mandatory.

Qualifications skills and experience required

  • Three A levels or equivalent minimum requirement.
  • Experience in a senior commercial position within the Lifesciences sector, either on vendor or provider side
  • Leading high value and long sales cycle information, technology or service sales
  • Demonstrable success in identifying, developing, closing and delivering solution sales
  • Well-developed knowledge in how to create successful relationships with internal cross-matrix operational, production, delivery and sales functions
  • Rich experience of assessing and understanding market/ competitor situations and applying this intelligence to lead the budget and forecasting process.
