The role of Senior biostatistician will offer you the opportunity to work on a variety of large patient-level datasets owned or accessible to IQVIA, working within a large and diverse team that includes leading experts in this fast-growing, high-interest field. The role will be focused on generating value and insight from the application of Real-World Data to solving healthcare-related problems for pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. This role requires capabilities in the preparation and analysis of anonymised patient-level data, according to agreed protocols and statistical analysis plans. The audience for these analyses will be various life-sciences customers as well as healthcare payers, providers and regulators

Responsibilities:

  • Protocol and statistical analysis plan development, informing data harmonization and integration, client discussions and consultancy, output interpretation, program strategy and management, and methodology and algorithm development.  
  • Analyse data from multiple primary data and secondary data sources (e.g., EMRs, PROs, eCRF, etc.),
  • Advise data management staff on database design, and critical data. 
  • Write statistical sections of integrated reports.
  • Provide expert statistical input into and review of statistical deliverable (i.e. analysis plans, table shells, programming and table specifications, data review, tables, listings, figures and statistical sections for integrated reports) and data management deliverables (i.e. database design, validation checks and critical data).
  • Act as statistical team lead for single complex studies or groups of studies.
  • Understand the Scope of Work, budget and quote assumptions, estimate the work completed, manage scope, and provide revenue and resource forecasts for single studies. May manage project budget and resource requirements.
  • Perform the review of RFPs, prepare proposal text and attend bid defense meetings.
  • Manage customer relationships.
  • Mentor and guide junior level and new staff.

Essential Work Experience, Qualifications And Knowledge:

  • MSc or PhD (or equivalent) in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or a related discipline
  • Strong statistical programming skills in a statistical package
  • Experience in analysing data from prospective or retrospective epidemiological studies, including database analyses
  • Evidence of previous experience utilising large-scale anonymous patient level retrospective healthcare databases populated with EMR data such as the CPRD or THIN​
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines to accomplish goals
  • Good time management skills and program acumen, to contribute to multiple projects with competing timelines
  • Ability to meet short deadlines with high quality deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation and PowerPoint skills)
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
