JOB DESCRIPTION – PRODUCTION STATISTICIAN

PURPOSE

Manages a team providing statistical analysis and input as required by production. Serves as subject matter expert on production statistical analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages team members and associated workflow and planning, ensuring deadlines are met for deliverables. Trains all team members in all aspects of the relevant production area. Supports, coaches and develops team members. Sets guidelines on projection methodology and statistical quality assurance of audits in cases of ambiguity. Determines how a data set can best be projected to represent a larger population.  Monitors changes in the market that would necessitate changes to IMS statistical practices and performs impact assessments to determine the exact result of the change and its statistical significance. Monitors and reports the accuracy of IMS audits over time.  Reviews quality control procedures to ensure they remain appropriate and recommends changes as needed.  Validates that quality control processes are performed as specified and ensuring staff has adequate understanding of quality control procedures to interpret results and make appropriate decisions with the data. Responds to the most complex client questions (directly or via client service) regarding data accuracy, trends, data content (what is included and excluded in the report).

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, statistician qualification preferred, with a minimum of six (6) years relevant statistical experience.
