CDR will be a data platform that is capable of ingesting, storing, processing and augmenting structured and unstructured data, batch and static data, devices and IOT endpoints, connectivity via REST APIs and Micro-services and integrated intelligence in form of predictive, recommendation engines, pattern recognition and real time monitoring powered by AI and machine learning.

Operating on top of largest and most scalable set of clinical data ever collected in the industry, with the help of a robust data lake that operates on a fully distributed computing system, CDR will be a data system of its own kind and in its own league.

One of the most critical success criteria for success of such an advanced data platform is to establish, sustain and evolve a robust data quality, master data management and data governance capability that is fully capable of providing consumers credibility and trust on collected and processed data.

“Platform Owner – DQG” is a strategic role that focuses on establishing data quality, data governance and information management vision by working very collaborating with internal and external business and technology stakeholders.

The “platform owner – DQG”, is one of the most important roles in terms of realizing IQVIA R&Ds’s future vision of creating a forward-looking data eco-system that enables our internal and external users to make proactive, data driven business decisions with the help of high quality, trustworthy data.

“Platform owner – DQG” will provide thought leadership and vision to enable the design and operation of a data systems that provides its users actionable data and actionable insight on a GXP compliant platform.

“Platform owner – DQG” will own the vision and strategy for Data quality, master data management and data governance aspect for our Nextgen data platform. They will work with various business stakeholders, technology teams, engineering teams, architects and product groups to establish a contextual data quality and data governance vision which can be used to establish a multiyear data quality roadmap.


  • Full accountability and ownership of data quality, master data management and data governance vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Responsible for socializing their vision with business groups and soliciting feedback to establish an IQVIA specific context around the vision
  • Constantly perform a gap analysis between industry trends and maturity IQVIA RDS’s data quality needs
  • Turn vision into a multiyear roadmap and establish a strategy to achieve this roadmap
  • Establish and manage relationships and expectations with internal and external users
  • Introduce innovating concepts to improve and sustain data quality of data platform and associated data capabilities outside of clinical data system.
  • Be a change agent and work with various business groups to establish a value preposition around data governance and stewardship
  • Responsible for IQVIA RDS’s Master data management service. This includes vision and strategy and customer relationship management aspect.
  • Work with solution architects to help design reusable, loosely coupled data quality and master data management services
  • Work with engineering organization(s) and data analysis teams to establish projects to achieve roadmap milestones and goals.
  • Work with external (existing as well as new) vendors to evaluate new technologies that are “fit for purpose” for IQVIA RDS’s needs
  • Work with Leadership to establish financials, budgets and costing for DGQ capability roadmap for CDR.
  • Be a champion of “Self-Serve” and articulate opportunities to establish capabilities that will enable users to use high quality data in a collaborative way with minimum involvement from technology teams
  • Be “Industry aware” and bring in new concepts and ideas to IQVIA and challenge status quo.


  • Ability to work independently with high level directions
  • Expertise with Data quality frameworks, methodologies and technologies
  • Expert level knowledge in Master data management processes, trends and technologies like Informatica MDM
  • Industry awareness and understanding of modern data computing models and relevance of data quality and governance in these models
  • Great understanding of enabling data governance processes and concepts such as business glossary, data catalogs, metadata management and data dictionaries and how these components fit together to form a connected information management system
  • Knowledge of high-performance data computing systems like Apache Hadoop and frameworks like Apache Spark
  • Expertise in understanding and interpreting relational data models
  • Familiarity with NoSQL, search and graph computing models
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics and data science concepts
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders, understanding business problems and opportunities and aligning these opportunities with technical capabilities.


Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related discipline and 6+ years experience with applicable tools; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience


  • Knowledge of clinical data used for clinical drug development.
  • Experience with the clinical drug development industry, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of HL7, EHR/EMR standards, CDISC ODM, SDTM, CDASH or ADAM standards a plus.
  • Familiarity with Quality Center, Agile methodologies a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Great stakeholder management, collaborative skills and a pro-active mindset.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices
  • High level understands of Data enabled APIs and its impact on modern data eco-system
  • Basic understanding of Self-Serve Data wrangling and analysis concepts
  • An entrepreneurial approach to day to day activities.
