Key Account Manager - Rare Diseases

Territory - Midlands / North England

Role Objective:

  • Launch of new rare disease medicine.
  • Creating company and product awareness among health community.
  • Help designing means to increase the potential use of the medicine by working on improving patient diagnosis, management and creating strong patient registry.
  • Work with physicians to introduce the newly launched medicine and grow its use by switching patients on other treatments and securing new patients.
  • Manging negotiations with payors, commissioners and procurement consortia to list the newly launched medicine in the formularies, secure funding and contracts.

Main Specific Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of commissioning in the NHS.
  • Up to date knowledge of the customer environment including the NHS budgetary process/funding pathways.
  • Strong multi-stakeholder management and engagement including clinicians, pharmacists, payers and other relevant decision makers.
  • Experience within rare disease field, or alternatively speciality care medicines.
  • Experience with metabolic, gastroenterology, and neurology physicians.
  • Evidence of market access work with payers (meds management/commissioners).
  • New product launch experience.
