Associate Principal, MedSci

Associate Principals have explicit recognition as senior team members and take management responsibility for the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects or components of multi country projects for clients in the pharmaceutical or related industries. They are responsible for mentoring, coaching and development of more junior staff within project teams and have line management and/or mentoring responsibility for several members of the MedSci team.  They are expected to play a significant role in business development through attracting follow-up work to successful projects and new work via industry contacts, RFPs and strategic initiatives.

  • Designs and implements a comprehensive offering plan across the continuum targeted towards a specific market. May have responsibility for multiple offerings within a market.
  • Supports Go-to-Market teams client interactions, including joining BD on client meetings where support might include presenting the offerings to the client directly.
  • Creates new offering plans to achieve targeted business results.  Drive and monitors the implementation of existing offering plans against targeted business results. 
  • Defines complete Go-To-Market plan. Drives client facing teams to document client needs and enhancements in order to support the continued development of offerings, both in terms of client relevance and development of IMS service/product delivery capabilities.
  • Leads the development of documents to support client facing teams in terms of client engagement and methodologies as well as positioning documents. 
  • Develops understanding of how to achieve objectives of their areas of business line responsibility and ensures execution of plans. Effectively prioritizes the execution of the business plan.  Is able to make basic trade-off decisions and influence stakeholder to reprioritize as needed within the context of one’s area of business line responsibility.  Tracks and is able to communicate the status of their areas of responsibility within the business line to a variety of stakeholders at different levels in the organization at any time.
  • Delivers segment, portion or module of product content training to relevant functions within area of responsibility.  Monitors performance of Go-to-Market activities and identifies and recommends adjustments to marketing plans. Implements changes.
  • Identifies vehicles for thought leadership (white papers, journal articles) and implements.
  • Works with Marketing/Communications and provides input to collateral development.

Essential general technical skills and knowledge

  • Able to appraise evidence critically and review reports and manuscripts to ensure clear, concise language as required by the type of work.
  • Good understanding of epidemiology research and theory and the ability to apply this in practice
  • Skilled in MS Word/Excel/Access/Power Point.
  • Skilled in data analysis, writing and utilizing statistical analysis software code. Experience working with OMOP Common Data Model. 
  • Must be adept in the use of statistical analysis software such as SAS or SPSS.
